(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  Post-doctoral research fellow in clinical prediction modeling

Respiratory Evaluation Sciences Program (RESP) is looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral research fellow in the area of clinical prediction modeling. The candidate will be supervised by Dr. Mohsen Sadatsafavi, MD, PhD within UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

RESP is embedded within Collaboration for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE), a growing academic unit bustling with productive students, thriving new investigators, and established senior faculty and mentors. The successful candidate will have an excellent chance of receiving salary awards from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR), or the Canadian Respiratory Research Network (CRRN).

The candidate will be working on developing state-of-the-art methodology in clinical prediction modeling, including novel uncertainty assessment method (Value of Information analysis), as well as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence method for predicting the risk of adverse outcomes in respiratory diseases. This position is funded via multiple grants and international collaborative projects.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Machine Learning for Genomics, Transcriptomics, and Bioinformatics

The School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver campus is seeking one postdoctoral fellow to join our dynamic team in the AI in Medicine Lab (www.aimlab.ca). This position is based in the School of Biomedical Engineering.

The successful candidate will work in the AI in Medicine Lab, applying machine learning to cutting-edge problems in cancer genomics, transcriptomics, spatial transcriptomics, and large-scale bioinformatics. This role focuses on developing and applying AI and deep learning techniques for analyzing high-dimensional omics data, identifying predictive biomarkers, and understanding cancer heterogeneity. Projects include modeling of bulk and single-cell transcriptomic profiles, integrative multi-omics analysis, and the fusion of molecular data with clinical and imaging features.

(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow Position in automated flight planning for medical drones

I have a funded PDF position available in the Algorithms Optimization and Control Lab (AOCL) at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.  

We’re working with the Drone Transport Initiative (https://dronetransport.med.ubc.ca) to deliver medicine and blood products to and from remote communities using autonomous drones. This position involves developing autonomy algorithms for these drones.

This is a 2-3 year position and part of a 3 year proof-of-concept technology development program working to demonstrate drone-based delivery of medicine in Northern BC.
