Your research focus will be on the mechanistic investigation of low-temperature direct ammonia fuel cells (DAFCs). (06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Associate for the Project “Detector Development for the CMS experiment”

Our group is deeply involved in detector R&D and construction of the CMS experiment.

Candidates are expected to take a leading role in the assembly and quality control of pixel sensor modules for the new CMS Inner Tracker for the high luminosity phase of the LHC. A close collaboration with international partner institutes is expected.

Specific responsibility of the candidate will be:

  • further development of measurement setups and analysis tools for the quality control of pixel modules
  • leading role in all aspects of the assembly and quality control testing of 500 CMS Inner Tracker pixel modules
  • integration of pixel modules on detector structures (requires travel to Switzerland)
  • laboratory and test beam, characterization of novel LGAD sensors

The project involves generating ultracold rubidium atoms arranged in arbitrary geometries using optical tweezer technology for designing new functional quantum systems. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Associate on Land Surface Modeling in the MOMENTplus project 

We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD student working in the project MOMENTplus (https://www.moment-permafrost.uni-hamburg.de/en/uebermoment.html). This PhD student will work on the new ICON-land model which includes the Jena Soil Model in order to address questions on the future Arctic methane budget and the effect of plant-microbe interactions on the C budget in permafrost-affected ecosystems. The project funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) aims to develop compressed diffusion models for audio and image signal processing. Diffusion models refer to a specific class of generative AI models that have shown excellent performance as data-driven priors for inverse problems in speech processing. However, current approaches remain computationally expensive as they require extensive neural network evaluations.
