(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  Postdoctoral Associate in Developmental (Epi-)Genetics, Reproductive and Stem Cell Biology

We are looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join a thriving team led by Prof. Myriam Hemberger and Prof. Wendy Dean. The successful candidate will investigate how uterine abnormalities contribute to placental defects and to fetal developmental outcome, an area of significant importance for maternal and fetal biomedicine. The project employs state-of-the-art organoid culture models, mouse models as well as a suite of chromatin-related (ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, scRNA-seq), molecular (CRISPR-Cas9 etc), and histological technologies. The successful candidate will have a recent PhD degree and have in-depth experience in developmental genetics, including the use of stem cell and/or organoid models. They will have a proven track record in research (i.e. publications) that highlights their hands-on experience in stem cell / organoid biology including the applications of CRISPR technology and leading NGS sequencing technologies including their analysis.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Postdoctoral Scholar in Cancer Epidemiology

The Postdoctoral Scholar will be supervised by Dr. Miranda Fidler-Benaoudia and will undertake population health and health systems research related to survivors of pediatric (0-14 year-olds) and/or adolescent and young adult (AYA; 15-39 year-olds) cancer. The successful candidate will work on a variety of cancer epidemiologic research studies that utilize registry, administrative health (Discharge Abstract Database, National Ambulatory Care Reporting System, and Practitioner Claims), and questionnaire (e.g. patient-reported outcomes, risk factor assessment) data. Immediate research projects include the investigation of: (i) chronic health condition risks; (ii) follow-up care and guideline adherence; (iii) healthcare utilization, (iv) palliative and end-of-life care and assisted death; and (v) cancer prevention at young ages. Additional projects can be developed based upon the successful candidate¿s interests. The start date is negotiable for the right candidate.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Post Doctoral Scholar in Mulitsensory Storytelling

A full-time Postdoctoral Scholar (PDS) opportunity is available at the University of Calgary, Canada, to begin on or about June 15, 2026 under the supervision of Dr Kathy Sitter. This PDS will contribute to a variety of projects aimed at sensory ethnography, multisensory storytelling, and knowledge translation projects. 

There are multiple research avenues for PDS involvement, with potential opportunities in:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of a large national study mapping disability histories across Canada using sensory ethnography, participatory methods and creative knowledge translation practices
  • Developing multisensory storytelling as a creative methodology
  • Exploring the strengths of legacy storytelling in dementia care
  • Collaborating with partner organizations related to disability and AI technologies. 

The PDS will have the opportunity to collaborate on projects with researchers from various disciplines (e.g., medicine, nursing, urban studies, engineering), as well as community organizations and institutions across the country. They will have access to ongoing data collection and will be encouraged to expand their own research in these areas through the development of complementary research projects. (04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Post Doctoral Scholar in Neurophysiology of Human Cognition

We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral scholar with a background in cognitive neuroscience and an interest in studying human cognition using intracranial recordings. The scholar will work closely with Dr. Fady Girgis, MD in the division of neurosurgery and Dr. Julia Kam, PhD in the department of psychology. This is a collaborative environment within the Hotchkiss Brain Institute.

The scholar will work in an interdisciplinary environment with a team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, and cognitive neuroscientists on several funded projects that aim to discover the neurophysiological basis of various cognitive constructs, using intracranial EEG, single unit recordings, machine learning and potentially stimulation approaches. Their primary role will involve executing the funded projects (i.e. acquisition of intracranial EEG and single-unit recordings from surgical patients, analysis of intracranial neurophysiology data, development of analytic tools, scientific dissemination). With access to state-of-the-art neuroimaging facilities and academic resources at the Cumming School of Medicine, the Psychology department, and the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, the fellow will also have the opportunity to pursue collaborative and self-directed projects beyond the funded research. They will also be strongly encouraged to apply for national/international awards.

The lab¿s mission is to deepen our knowledge of the neural underpinnings of various cognitive constructs including theory of mind, non-literal language, and mind wandering, using a multi-modal approach that combines behavioral and eye tracking methods with intracranial EEG and single-unit neural recordings. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Associate, Epidemiology and Data Science in Kidney Health

The Alberta Kidney Disease Network (AKDN) and the University of Calgary are accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position in Kidney Health Epidemiology and Data Science, to be based in Calgary, Alberta. The AKDN is a collaborative network of researchers located in the cities of Calgary and Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. AKDN trainees and junior faculty have previously published papers as first authors in a variety of prestigious journals including the Lancet, BMJ, JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, JASN, and Kidney International (for more information visit https://cumming.ucalgary.ca/research/akdn).

The position requires independent analysis and research. Work with Dr. Ping Liu, Epidemiologist in the Department of Medicine and adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences, this postdoctoral scholar will lead high-impact research aimed at: (1) examining the burden, management, and outcomes of chronic kidney disease to inform care delivery and health policy, or (2) developing and testing risk prediction tools (including machine learning and statistical learning) for kidney disease, using several existing databases, including a provincial repository of administrative, clinical, and laboratory data. Candidates will have the opportunity for first-hand experience with research initiatives directly related to the key focus areas. The expectation for the recruited scholar is to apply for external fellowship funding support at the university, provincial and national level.

(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Post Doctoral Scholar Pediatric Nephrology and Rheumatology

The position requires independent analysis and research, within a team approach in a fast moving and changing environment, often involving multiple stakeholders. The PDS will contribute to refining the research questions and methods and will have the opportunity to lead a multi-pronged program of research to assess use of patient reported outcome measures, patient education concepts and evaluation approaches across sectors for youth with rheumatic diseases, mental health concerns and/or other disability. Clinical trial design will be used to assess interventional education programs. Quantitative analysis will apply statistical and economic approaches to survey data collection and qualitative analysis will draw on perspectives from focus groups and interviews with participants. Research outcomes will inform policy development for health services and evaluation. The PDS will work closely with national and international researchers and with community stakeholders.

We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral research fellow with a strong background in Developmental/Behavioural Pediatrics and patient-oriented research. The successful candidate will join the Precision Neurodevelopment Lab and work alongside diverse research staff, students, and partners with lived experience to understand and improve the everyday lives of neurodiverse children with behaviours of concern and their families. Our lab is proudly inclusive. This position offers the unique opportunity to work on projects within a collaborative research lab embedded in a developmental pediatrics subspecialty clinic. The research-to-clinic pathway strongly supports implementation science-focused projects.

Candidates should hold (or be near completion of) a PhD in neuroscience, pediatrics, medical science, psychology, or a related field within the last 5 years. (09) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Associate in Computational Multi-Omics for Immunotherapy

The Morrissy Lab is seeking a highly motivated scientist with expertise in bioinformatics and data science to join our team as a Postdoctoral Associate focused on immunotherapy in high-risk solid tumors. The candidate will use state-of-the-art analytic approaches to investigate multi-omics data and derive an in-depth understanding of tumor ecosystem dynamics in clinical samples from immunotherapy trials ¿ including phenotypic and functional cell heterogeneity, tumor and microenvironment cell niches, and cellular crosstalk. Further, the candidate will have the opportunity to use machine learning/AI workflows to generate new binders for immunotherapies that will enter our pre-clinical testing pipeline. Data of primary focus include (1) cohorts of single-patient and phase I clinical trial participants treated with CAR T-cells (see for example Zemp at al, 2024, in revision at Nature; preprint on medRxiv), and (2) pre-clinical data from next-generation immune-therapeutics augmented through genome engineering and incorporation of novel binders. The candidate will employ innovative computational approaches to integrate single cell and spatial datasets from clinical samples with data from ongoing preclinical studies, further incorporating genomics and proteomics profiles from in-house or public repositories.
