The Data Engineering, Science, and Systems (DESS) research group at Aalborg University (AAU) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to high-impact research on machine learning related to the analysis of IoT data in the form of multivariate time series.
The DESS group is part of Department of Computer Science that belongs to AAU’s Technical Faculty for IT and Design. The Department of Computer Science has 170+ scientific staff, including the two most cited Danish computer scientists, 20 administrative staff, and 1,100 students. The position is announced as part of the DFF1 project Fluorescent MS. As a successful candidate, you will be focused on the synthesis of fluorescent peptides and their study in a fluorescence-MS spectrometer. Background in peptide synthesis, mass spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy is highly recommended. Other characterization technologies such as Circular Dichroism, Stopped flow spectroscopy, SEM, AFM, FTIR will be an advantage. As the position is part of a collaborative research project, the candidate should show have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate is expected to contribute not only to the ongoing research project but also participate in activities supporting future research initiatives. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in Design for Social Resilience and Ecosystems of Products, People and Places
This postdoc position is part of a new interdisciplinary thematic research initiative that examines Urban Social Resilience, with particular attention to care ethics, participatory processes, and social innovation as guiding frameworks. The postdoc will contribute to interdisciplinary research activities, empirical studies, and scholarly publications in close collaboration with two PhD students appointed across Department of Architecture, Design & Media Technology and Department of Sustainability & Planning. The position further offers engagement in a broader research network spanning sustainability, planning, urban design, architecture, and industrial design.

The Department of the Built Environment (BUILD) at The Technical Faculty of Engineering and Science invites applications for a position as PostDoc in the field of material science, modelling and determining performance requirements of materials and decarbonized buildings. The position is available from June 1st, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is temporary for 2 years and is based at Aalborg University’s Copenhagen campus.
You will join the Building Physics research group at BUILD located at Copenhagen campus, which conducts research on correct construction techniques for both new and existing materials as well as new products, covering both new buildings and renovation. Focusing on developing robust solutions that enhance the sustainability of construction, including increased use of biobased and other renewable materials, and evaluating recycled materials without compromising durability.
