PhD position summary/title: PhD student Gedeeld Leiderschap in de Zorg, nieuwe vormen van professioneel werk
Administrators and professionals have a key role in the described transition of healthcare. Working together based on shared leadership requires both groups to have a different – more horizontal – orientation than they are used to, which transcends boundaries between organizations and functions.
It requires a form of re-professionalization from professionals: strengthening professional skills that contribute to collaboration across the boundaries of their own profession, that connect to the lives of clients and support that life, using new sources of knowledge and technologies. How can this process of reprofessionalization take shape and meaning? What new forms of care and (collaboration) does this lead to? What organizational and institutional preconditions are needed to make this possible? How can we conceptually interpret this movement?
Various research methods can be used in the research. Given the exploratory nature, an approach via qualitative case studies is preferred. There is a preference for case studies from the social domain and long-term care, because there is already a lot of movement in the described direction in these domains.

PhD position summary/title: PhD student Shared Leadership in Healthcare, responsive management
Administrators and professionals have a key role in the described transition of healthcare. Working together based on shared leadership requires both groups to have a different – more horizontal – orientation than they are used to, which transcends boundaries between organizations and functions. It requires a form of responsive management from administrators, in which there is circularity between practice and policy, the continuous coordination of short-term goals (aimed at improving existing practices) and long-term goals (aimed at transition), and there is cooperation based on a multiple responsibility and forms of management, coordination and accountability are sought that support and facilitate the changing relationship between citizens and healthcare organizations, patients and professionals. How can this process of responsive management be implemented? What new administrative approaches, working and interaction methods does this lead to? What leadership, administrative and institutional work is needed to make this possible? How can we conceptually interpret this movement?
Various research methods can be used in the research. Given the exploratory nature, an approach via qualitative case studies is preferred. There is a preference for case studies from the social domain and long-term care (youth care, elderly care, care for the disabled), because there is already a lot of movement in the described direction in these domains.
