PhD position summary/title: Research Associate (PhD Position) – Regulatory Long Non-Coding RNAs and Chromatin Biology in Plasmodium Falciparum

The research group of Michael Filarsky at the Centre for Structural Systems Biology (CSSB) in Hamburg (Germany), is looking for a PhD student to investigate the role of long non-coding RNAs in controlling cell fate decisions in the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum. The project is part of an ERC starting grant project, which aims to elucidate the mechanisms behind the epigenetic control of gene expression switching in P. falciparum. In particular, we are interested in uncovering the molecular factors, that link environmental signals, chromatin states, and cell cycle progression during the red blood cell stages of the parasite.
