This post is available immediately and offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing research team, working in a global priority research area with the potential to drive significant improvements in health and healthcare.
You will be based within the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics and part of the Leeds Institute for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine. You will be responsible for the delivery of research through the application of advanced statistical techniques to clinical registry and electronic healthcare record data to study real-life complex patterns of health and care for people with cardiovascular disease as well as undertake activities as part of the wider research group including data applications, development of analytical protocols, pilot work contributing to future grants and design and delivery of patient and public engagement activities.
Deadline : 08 May 2026
(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc summary/title: Research Fellow in Fermentation Processes and Bioeconomies
Do you have a strong interest in fermentation? Do you have experience in process design and life cycle assessments? Are you keen to develop your career in bioeconomies? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive Universities?
Achieving economically viable, sustainable and net‑zero production routes for biogenically derived chemicals remains one of the fundamental challenges facing the global bioeconomy. Converting bio‑waste streams, including food, paper, and agricultural residues into high-value products, offers a transformative opportunity: these waste materials are low-cost, widely available, and currently underutilised. Recent advances have demonstrated that such wastes can be efficiently processed to yield high concentrations of fermentable sugars, unlocking new pathways for producing bioplastics, platform chemicals, and next-generation bio-manufactured materials.
Deadline : 23 April 2026

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Assistant in Interfacial Phenomena for Carbon Storage
Are you a motivated early career researcher? Do you have an interest in carbon storage technologies? Do you have an interest in surface and interfacial phenomena, multiphase fluids, or carbon storage technologies? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive Universities?
The role holder will join a research team investigating the behaviour of liquid interfaces in brine–supercritical CO₂ systems, under reservoir-relevant pressure and temperature conditions. The role focuses on supporting experimental studies of droplet wetting and dewetting, using imaging techniques to observe droplet shape and contact-line motion.
Deadline : 22 April 2026
(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Computational Biophysics
This new and exciting position is funded by the BBSRC and will enable us to study one of the cortex lytic enzymes, SleB. Bacterial spores are among the most pernicious cells in nature. Formed as survival structures in response to nutrient starvation, their ubiquity and extreme resistance to heat and other stress factors that would ordinarily kill vegetative cells means they are difficult to eradicate. This presents problems in the food sector, for example, since spores can survive processing and then germinate and proliferate, resulting in spoilage or toxigenesis. SleB is somehow held in an inactive state during spore dormancy and can withstand whatever insults are thrown at the spore during that period, before rapidly assuming activity during spore germination. Building a detailed molecular and dynamic understanding of SleB activity in dormant and germinating spores, which will complement the available structural and functional data, will present new routes to improved control of spores.
