We invite you to apply for a Post Doctoral Scholar position to pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of Dr. Deepti Mathur, Ph.D. As part of the Department of Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, our goal is to use the lens of metabolism to better understand and predict cancer progression. We use a combination of experimental and clinical data paired with computational analyses to model tumor evolution. We seek a postdoctoral candidate who will apply a combination of molecular biology and engineering methods to understand how metabolic spatial structure affects cancer progression, using specialized microfluidic chambers. The postdoc will analyze and present data regularly, participate in conferences, assist in the writing of manuscripts, and mentor undergraduate or graduate trainees.

Post Doctoral Scholar will work with Professor Scott Gaudi in the Department of Astronomy on the development and exploitation of science programs enabled by NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Galactic Bulge Time Domain Survey (Roman GBTDS). The department has a substantial institutional presence within the Roman Space Telescope program, including major participation in two Project Infrastructure Teams and two Wide Field Science Teams. Successful candidates will contribute to Roman Galactic Exoplanet Survey (RGES) science through the development of gravitational microlensing theory, analysis of Roman commissioning and early GBTDS data, support for event-analysis and planet occurrence-rate pipelines, and the publication of scientific results based on Roman exoplanet data. Responsibilities will also include contributing to conference presentations and collaborating closely with members of the Roman science community. In addition, successful applicants will be expected to contribute positively to the department’s research environment and mentor junior researchers within both the immediate research group and the broader astronomy department.

The Postdoctoral Scholar will work with Professor Scott Gaudi in the Department of Astronomy at The Ohio State University on the development of the Living Worlds science goals for NASA’s Habitable Worlds Observatory (HWO). Responsibilities will include collaborating with and supporting the activities of the HWO Community Science & Instrument Team (CSIT) and the HWO Technology Maturation Project Office (TMPO). The Post Doctoral Scholar will conduct advanced research in environmental health and engineering with a focus on viral dynamics in built environments. The scholar will perform computational and laboratory-based research to investigate viral deactivation under varying environmental conditions. This position will contribute to data analysis, experimental design, scholarly publications, and research reporting in support of funded research projects within the laboratory.

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the College of Engineering at The Ohio State University invites applications for an experimental Postdoctoral Scholar position in the emerging field of Polarization Caloritronics.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research team led by Professor Wolfgang Windl and supported by a Vannevar Bush Faculty Fellowship focused on polarization caloritronics, the study of coupled heat and polarization transport in ferroelectric materials. Besides supporting the existing experimental effort, the postdoc will lead the development and experimental validation of transformative device concepts such as thermal transistors, thermoelectric energy conversion, or THz-capable phonon logic. Responsibilities include conducting high-precision electrical, thermal, and transport measurements on ferroelectric and multiferroic materials; designing, fabricating, and characterizing advanced devices for thermal management, logic, memory, thermoelectric, and THz applications; publishing research findings in leading scientific journals; and contributing to the development of advanced experimental capabilities within the research group.

The experimental work is supported by first-principles based transport modeling, and the broader collaborative network includes materials synthesis experts at Ohio State University, as well as collaborators at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) supporting characterization through piezoresponse force microscopy (PFM) and inelastic neutron scattering (INS).

We seek a full-time postdoctoral scholar with expertise in engineering education research to contribute to a federally funded national initiative focused on examining Hispanic Serving Institutions role in graduate engineering education, while also supporting teaching and scholarly activities within the Department of Engineering Education. The imaging-in-plants Postdoctoral Scholar will serve in the Division of Biostatistics, College of Public Health, at The Ohio State University and is responsible for executing statistical and computational research activities focused on novel methods development for processing, segmentation, and trait extraction from 3D CT images of plant roots under the mentorship and training of the assigned faculty supervisor. This role requires a solid foundation of discipline‑specific knowledge in plant physiology, CT imaging, and deep learning/AI, and the ability to generate innovative ideas and novel lines of inquiry that contribute to the team’s scientific objectives. The postdoctoral scholar will design and execute experiments logically and efficiently, interpret data accurately, and apply appropriate analytical approaches to support research conclusions. The position requires effective use and understanding of plant physiology, high performance computing, maintaining accurate and thorough research records and code documentation, and staying current with new techniques and emerging methodologies. Postdoctoral Research Associate to pursue specialized research training and gain research experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Auditory Evoked Potential (AEP) Laboratory within the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University. This is a one-year position with an immediate start date and can be extended based on performance for up to three years.
