(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  Postdoc position: quantitative biology of non-growing bacteria

A postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Prof. Erik van Nimwegen. The position is initially for two years, funded by an SNF grant, but may be extended upon mutual agreement. The postdoctoral fellow will be supervised by T. Julou and E. van Nimwegen. The position is available immediately and priority will be given to candidates that can start relatively soon.

Postdoc summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher

The Chair of Labour Economics, Prof. Conny Wunsch, at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Basel (Switzerland) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in labour economics. The initial appointment is for 2 years and an employment level of 80%. Subject to available funding and based on mutual agreement, the employment level can be increased to 100% at any time and the contract can be extended by another 4 years after the initial 2 years.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Associate, Cancer Immunotherapy Laboratory

The Department of Biomedicine is a joint effort between the University of Basel and the University Hospitals Basel. It unites basic and clinical scientists to advance our understanding of health and disease and to develop pioneering therapies benefiting the lives of patients in areas of unmet need.

With more than 70 research groups and 900 employees, the Department of Biomedicine is the largest department at the University. We are located in the heart of Basel at 6 different locations. Be part of our future!

Our research is dedicated to delineate mechanisms of anti-cancer immunity in tumor models and cancer patients. A major focus is the preclinical and clinical development of immunotherapeutic strategies against cancer including the definition of new targets including glycan antigens. (04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher (100%)

The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is a world-leading institute in global health with a particular focus on low- and middle-income countries. Associated with the University of Basel, Swiss TPH combines research, education and services at local, national and international levels. 950 people from 80 nations work at Swiss TPH focusing on infectious and non-communicable diseases, environment, society and health as well as health systems and interventions.

The Medical Parasitology and Infection Biology (MPI) Department at Swiss TPH investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying pathogen biology and survival, host-pathogen interactions or drug resistance. Further activities include studies on disease transmission, immunity to infection, pathogen population structure and preclinical and clinical studies testing new disease interventions. The Malaria Gene Regulation Lab studies the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum, with a focus on understanding the transcriptional and epigenetic control mechanisms regulating antigenic variation and sexual conversion and on exploring the molecular and cellular processes driving gametocyte differentiation, the life cycle stages responsible for malaria transmission. Within the frame of a research project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), we are offering a position for a Postdoctoral Researcher (100%).
