(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow – Health and Biomedical Data Sciences
This is a rare opportunity for a talented, motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on a number of exciting health data-sciences and biomedical informatic studies. You will be joining the University of Surrey’s Health and Biomedical Informatics Research Group, where you will set up and run studies on multi-morbidity in aging populations, using large-scale data such as from the UK BioBank and other large patient cohorts. Over the course of three years, we will develop the project from this initial starting point offering flexibility to the post holder. The overall programme of research will be jointly developed by Prof. Nophar Geifman and the person appointed. As such, there are opportunities to broaden out into other areas such as drug repurposing, ‘omics data analyses, and advanced computational methodologies for integrated analyses.

Applications are invited for a 3-year post-doctoral position within the molecular virology group led by Dr Carlos Maluquer de Motes at the University of Surrey (United Kingdom). The post is funded by a BBSRC project grant aimed at studying the role of novel ubiquitin ligases in airway inflammation and viral infection.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Experimental Fluid Mechanics
The overarching goal is to explore the effect of tall buildings (both in isolation and in clusters) on the planetary boundary layer, air quality, pedestrian comfort and the local microclimate with the aim of developing models that describe the effects of tall buildings on these quantities to help promoting the development of healthier cities. We wish to recruit a full-time, post-doctoral researcher, preferably with experience in wind tunnel modelling of urban flow and dispersion. The position will run to the end of the FUTURE programme in May 2024 and will contribute to three main areas: wind tunnel studies; result analysis and interpretation, collaboration with field work and CFD studies. The posts form part of the larger FUTURE PDRA team within the collaborating universities.

(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Network Security
This post will work on an exciting collaborative research project named AUTOTRUST funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) aiming to design and implement a secure machine learning model that mimics the behaviours of autonomous vehicle sensors associated with 5G wireless communication. The designed model provides continuous data validation, allowing accurate decision making in relation to vehicle safety and logistics. The plan is to validate and test the designed remote ML model in a real 5G network in various cases.

The university received its royal charter in 1966, along with a number of other institutions following recommendations in the Robbins Report. The institution was previously known as Battersea College of Technology and was located in Battersea Park, London.
