(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Public Health Sciences

The position will be associated with the project “The unintended consequences of Swedish parental leave policy: A health equity perspective” (ParLeHealth). The aim of the project is to identify aspects of the parental leave system that may lead to unforeseen health consequences contributing to the perpetuation, increase, and even production of health inequalities. More information about ParLeHealth: www.su.se/department-of-public-health-sciences/ParLeHealth.

Deadline : 6 May 2022.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow focusing on Isotope Studies of Aerosols and Gases over South Asia

The postdoc will be immersed in strong and long-standing research on the interlinkages between air pollution and climate change in South Asia. The department offers well-equipped analytical facilities for addressing these questions with advanced molecular, isotopic and optical measurement techniques. We have a large international collaborative network and great access to strategic and well-equipped atmospheric receptor observatories in South Asia. The post-doc will be centrally engaged in this international cooperation including field-based campaigns.

Deadline : 2 May 2022

(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in experimental quantum technology

The Trapped Ion Quantum Technology group at Stockholm University invites applications for a postdoctoral position on our trapped Rydberg ion project. The successful applicant will design and build a cryogenic ion trapping experiment for realising a fast quantum processor with trapped Rydberg ions. The cryogenic environment will reduce decoherence due to black-body radiation.

Deadline : 30 April 2022

(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in experimental quantum computing with Rydberg ions

The Trapped Ion Quantum Technology group at Stockholm University invites applications for a postdoctoral position on our trapped Rydberg ion project. The successful applicant will work on trapped ion experiments to perform fast quantum gates and quantum algorithms via Rydberg interaction.

Trapped Rydberg ions are a new system for quantum computation. By laser pulses the ions’ outermost electron is excited to a high-lying Rydberg orbital [1]. Such Rydberg ions are million times bigger than ions in the ground state, and due to their size obtain very peculiar properties. Trapped ions can be entangled via a strong Rydberg interaction in less than a microsecond [2]. This method supports fast entangling gates in large ions crystals, thus enabling a fast trapped ion quantum computer or quantum simulator.

Deadline : 31 March 2022

(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in stellar analysis for 4MOST

The successful candidate will join a group with three PhD students and three postdoctoral fellows, jointly funded by the European Research Council and the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

Research in the area of stellar spectroscopy in the Milky Way in the group led by Karin Lind. The successful candidate will be a member of the 4MOST consortium and its infrastructure working groups. The main tasks are to develop and test spectrum analysis software for the Galactic analysis pipeline and provide support to the Galactic Project Scientist (Lind).

(07) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Arctic plant-soil interactions

Climate warming is rapidly changing Arctic environments. Consequences include permafrost thaw, increased microbial degradation of soil organic matter to CO2 and other greenhouse gases, but also wide-spread stimulation of plant primary production and CO2 uptake, deeper plant rooting and shifts in vegetation distribution. In addition, plants can accelerate decomposition of soil organic matter decomposition near their roots to CO2 (“rhizosphere priming effect”), and this effect might substantially enhance Arctic CO2 emissions (Keuper & Wild et al. 2020 Nature Geoscience).

Deadline : 15 May 2022

(08) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctor Fellow in the rEUsilience Project

The position as a postdoctor is connected to the comparative social policy research carried out at SOFI (www.sofi.su.se/forskning/tre-forskningsavdelningar/socpol) and part of the project rEUsilience: Risks, Resources and Inequalities: Increasing Resilience in European Families, funded by Horizon Europe. Taken as a whole, the project’s research aim is to identify the level of risk and socio-economic insecurity faced by families across Europe and the capacity of different family types to absorb socio-economic shocks by adjusting behaviours and structural arrangements. The project will critically examine the role of policy. The project is international, with partners in 6 countries (Belgium, Spain, Croatia, Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom), and will develop both pan-European analyses of existing data (on policy and practice) and new focus group research.

Deadline : 30 April 2022
