A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Influenza and Innate Immunity Laboratory to study influenza infection and host innate immune defense. The study will focus on the characterization of the novel host factors identified by our previous work (Li et al., Immunity 2011; Wang et al., Nature Communications, 2017; Fu et al., JEM, 2017) and the impacts of these factors on influenza A virus infection. A background in lung biology and pathology, respiratory pathogens, genetically modified mice and animal models, proteomics, or innate immunity is a plus.

The successful candidate will be capable of investigating the role of human papillomavirus (HPV) or Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) in its associated human cancers. Multiple postdoctoral positions are available at the Brain Institute of Tulane University to work on the newly funded NIH Project Program Grant (P01) “Estrogens, Cardiometabolic Health, and Female Cognitive Aging”. The grant supports three Cores and four synergistic research Projects across the Tulane Schools of Science & Engineering and Medicine. The broad goal of the research is to determine the impact of cardiometabolic status on the ability of exogenously administered estrogens to benefit the brain and cognition in an aging female rodent model. The research is at the intersection of neuroscience, cardiovascular and metabolic function, and women’s health. Positions are available in the labs of Project and Core Leads Drs. The project is directed by Stacy Overstreet, PhD, and supported by co-project director Courtney Baker, PhD, as well as nine city and community agencies. The mission of the Coalition is to support transformative change in schools as they implement and sustain healing-centered, trauma-informed multi tiered systems of support to improve the psychological, behavioral, and educational outcomes of youth exposed to trauma and to prevent new exposure in schools.
