A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Influenza and Innate Immunity Laboratory to study influenza infection and host innate immune defense. The study will focus on the characterization of the novel host factors identified by our previous work (Li et al., Immunity 2011; Wang et al., Nature Communications, 2017; Fu et al., JEM, 2017) and the impacts of these factors on influenza A virus infection. A background in lung biology and pathology, respiratory pathogens, genetically modified mice and animal models, proteomics, or innate immunity is a plus.    

A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in a well-funded laboratory to study the role of microbiome on development of progression of enterohepatic disease. The primary focus of our research is to employ molecular, cellular, preclinical approaches to understand the mechanisms related to gut-liver axis, bile acid homeostasis, and nutritional and immune response during gut and liver metabolism. Recent research also focuses on the development of probiotic-based therapy for alcohol-associated liver disease, non-alcoholic liver disease, liver fibrosis, and cancer.

The incumbent will work closely with Dr. Emily Farrer from Tulane’s Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, to engage in independent and collaborative research exploring aspects plant-microbe interactions as they pertain to plant invasion and global change impacts in California rangelands.

Multiple postdoctoral positions are available at the Brain Institute of Tulane University to work on the newly funded NIH Project Program Grant (P01) “Estrogens, Cardiometabolic Health, and Female Cognitive Aging”. The grant supports three Cores and four synergistic research Projects across the Tulane Schools of Science & Engineering and Medicine. The broad goal of the research is to determine the impact of cardiometabolic status on the ability of exogenously administered estrogens to benefit the brain and cognition in an aging female rodent model. The research is at the intersection of neuroscience, cardiovascular and metabolic function, and women’s health. Positions are available in the labs of Project and Core Leads Drs. Jill Daniel, Sarah Lindsey, Ricardo Mostany, Laura Schrader, and Andrea Zsombok.  here 

The Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory experiments in cellular and molecular biology; Carries out survival, FACs analysis, ELIZA and molecular biology assays on cell cultures and animal tissues; Maintains mouse colonies including animal husbandry, genotyping, and collecting organs and tissues; performs stretch and flow assays. Places lab orders and is responsible for lab organization including freezer organization. Performs data management and preparation of data for presentation in manuscripts, seminars, and other formats. Supervises and provides assistance in training students (i.e. undergraduate and graduate levels).
