(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:    Postdoctoral Researcher in Statistical Bioinformatics

Gene-based networks can be extracted from genomic or bioinformatics data bases or can be estimated using omics datasets such as proteomics and transcriptomics. The availability of information from various sources raises the question whether the information in these datasets is complementary or wholly or partly redundant and how to summarize it. To overcome these challenges, researchers on the project will introduce a statistical model for gene-based networks, design an estimation procedure, and investigate its properties.

Deadline : 27 March 2023

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title:  Postdoctoral Researcher: Physiological and Implicit Indicators of Popularity Motivation and Bullying

In this position, you will focus on co-developing status motivation measures, including questionnaires, reaction time paradigms, and especially physiological measures. For the physiological measurement a new paradigm has to be designed and programmed in order to measure responses to status reward and status threat in social (bullying) situations. Furthermore, appropriate procedures for processing the data have to be developed. You will pilot test these measures with primary school students and write articles about the measurement development and research questions that have your interest.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:    Postdoctoral Researcher in Cellular Neuroscience

Synapses in the brain live for months or even years. Their protein components, however, become dysfunctional after much shorter periods and therefore have to be removed continuously. Pathways for removing these damaged proteins include the ubiquitin-proteasome system, autophagy and the endo-lysosomal system. We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to investigate degradative mechanisms at presynapses, the role of the endo-lysosomal pathway in particular. We are also recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to map early dysfunction of neurons in Parkinson’s disease. The postdoctoral researcher will investigate how alpha-synuclein aggregation in axons and synapses can disturb neurotransmission.
