An exciting opportunity exists for two Postdoctoral Research Fellows to join the research team at Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences Centre (QAEHS) within our Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences. Supported by an ARC Linkage project, the project aims to better understand chemical and biological hazards in Australia through long-term collection and analysis of wastewater and biosolids. The project has three overarching goals: A) advancing sampling and analytical methodologies to expand the scope and reach of wastewater-based monitoring in Australia, B) measuring and understanding spatial and (long-term) temporal trends for chemical and biological hazards, and C) improving quantitative understanding of the sources and fate of chemical and biological hazards released to the environment from wastewater treatment plants.

We are seeking an enthusiastic astrophysicist or cosmologist to join the astrophysics group and undertake research at the University of Queensland as part of the Australian Research Council Discovery Project: “A Space Odyssey: Exploring the Universe with Gravitational-Wave Sirens.” The position is available for an initial period of 2 years, with a possible extension of up to 1 year based on academic level and funding availability. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting research in the broad field of cognitive neuroscience and neuropsychology, with particular emphasis on understanding fundamental mechanisms of creative thought, which involves both executive control processes and semantic cognition. The primary supervisor will be Professor Gail Robinson, with input from Professor Matt Lambon Ralph. We are seeking a post-doctoral level researcher with expertise in neuropsychology and human cognitive neuroscience, to conduct research projects involving measurement of behaviour and brain activity (using fMRI), and to assist with designing and carrying out experiments, conduct data analyses, publication and presentation of findings, assistance with student supervision and teaching, and other duties as requested by the primary supervisor. The ideal candidate will have a solid grounding in cognition (language and/or executive functions) and statistical analysis, experience and competency with neuroimaging, and a keen interest in neuropsychology.
